A private timber-frame retreat

Where the woods open up
and the world quiets down.

Hand-hewn beams, a green metal roof, and a fire pit set against acres of Ozark hardwood. Chadwick Lodge is built for slow mornings, long porch sits, and the kind of evenings you don't want to end.

The Story

A handcrafted lodge tucked into the hills, where the only thing on the schedule is the sunset.

Chadwick Lodge was built the way the old places were — log siding milled with a craftsman's wave, cedar columns rising from native stone, and a green standing-seam roof you can hear the rain on. Three stories of timber and glass overlook private wooded acreage, with patios, decks, and fire-side seating that follow the light from morning coffee to last embers.

It's a place to gather a family, host a few couples, or come home to nothing at all but the trees.

Stone fire pit and patio at dusk
The Fire Pit

An evening ritual carved into stone.

A circular flagstone patio with a hand-laid stone fire pit, set on the edge of the woods. Curved seating wall, distant ridges, and a pink Ozark sky for company.

  • Gas-lit fire feature
  • Curved seat wall
  • Treeline views
  • Star-bright nights
Screened porch and tiered decks
The Screened Porch

Three levels of porch, deck, and patio.

A screened second-story porch, an open dining deck, and a stone walkout patio below — the home wraps the hillside so every floor steps out into the trees. Coffee on one level, dinner on another, fireside on the third.

  • Screened upper porch
  • Open dining deck
  • Walkout stone patio
  • Outdoor grill station

The Craft

Hand-hewn timber, native stone, and warm cedar light.

The entry rises in a great timber-frame archway over a stone porch — cedar columns, hand-cut braces and soaring panes of glass fill the great room with afternoon light. Inside, this care and attention continue: heavy beams, wide-plank floors, and a stone hearth.

  • Cathedral great room
  • Stone hearth fireplace
  • Chef's kitchen
The Setting

Surrounded on every side by Ozark hardwood — and very little else.

The drive winds past oak and cedar, the roof line appears, and the road behind you disappears. From the upper deck, nothing but ridges. It is, by design, the quietest part of your week.

Guest Review
“We came for a long weekend and ended up wishing we'd booked a week. The fire pit at dusk, the porch in the morning — we didn't even leave the property.”
